Chosen As One Of The 8 "Icons" For The 2007 Frontiers Yellow Pages --169 viewsI'm honored to be among the diverse group of individuals selected for the 25th anniversary issue of <i>Frontiers</i> Yellow Pages (formerly known as the LGBT "Community Pages.") For any of you whom might be scratching your noggins over that title, here's the deal: it's a phone book that comes out annually in which gay and "gay-friendly" businesses throughout Southern California advertise.
It's thicker than the phone book for <i>all</i> of Northeast Arkansas, where I was raised, which to me says <b>something...</b>
And hell: even my shrink advertises in the dang thang! ;)
This shoot was another one of those "Full Circle" moments in my life: I remember drooling over Jenny Shimizu (directly to my left, behind me) back in the '90s when girls with <b>personality</b> were still ruling the high-fashion runways... I'd gaze over her androgynous CK1 campaigns and praise that girls like Kristen McMenamy, Eve Salvail and she were stirring up conventional notions of what defines "beauty."
